As an achievement for me it is the final result of the installation: it is the largest hybrid installation that exists in Spain. If we look at decarbonisation, I think that more than 1,000 tonnes are being avoided per year. That weight for the 25 years that the installation may have a life span, if we take this into account in terms of gas in the atmosphere, then we are avoiding a lot of CO2 and we are avoiding or directly fighting against global warming.

We have opted for the hybrid panel from Abora because in the same panel we can have both thermal and photovoltaic technology. What benefits do we logically have with this installation? Well, we are truly convinced that we have taken a big step towards the sustainable development goals, and just one fact: we used to emit 25 tons of CO2 into the atmosphere through thermal energy, and in the two and a half months since the installation, we have saved 4.5 tons. We have opted for hybrid solar panels because they provide us with the part of photovoltaic electricity and the part of solar thermal energy that is very necessary in our hotels. FAQs

What is the maintenance of the ah72 panels?
The panels do not require any more maintenance than cleaning the glass periodically (quarterly recommended).
Can I replace solar thermal panels with Abora hybrids?
Yes, in fact, it is advisable to replace worn-out panels of simple technology, with hybrid ahtech‍ technology since the production of the installation, and therefore the savings obtained, will increase considerably. The combination of the two technologies, thermal and photovoltaic, in a single panel, also allows to optimize the available space in the roofs of the buildings.
Why install a hybrid solar panel if I can install photovoltaic panels at a lower cost? Is there any increase in the electrical production of the facility?
Because the energy production of each technology is very different. A hybrid panel generates the same energy as 5 photovoltaic panels and costs less than 5 photovoltaic panels. Therefore, to generate the same energy, it is a more economical and, consequently, more cost-effective solution. By analysing the savings over the lifetime of the installation, hybrid panels achieve savings about three times higher than those achieved in photovoltaics. As an example: in a 4-star hotel with 200 beds, if 70 photovoltaic panels are installed the accumulated cash flow in 25 years (total economic savings) is 220,994 € and if hybrid panels are used, the savings achieved is 576,056 €. So, clearly with hybrid solar panels are not only the most profitable, but they are the ones that achieve the most economic savings, energy and emissions. In addition, it will be very important to take into account the temperature range to which the hydraulic circuit will work, since the performance of the photovoltaic part increases if the cell temperature is reduced. And in most applications, the temperatures at which cells work on a hybrid panel will be lower than those of a photovoltaic panel. For example, in low temperature applications such as swimming pools this "cooling" effect of cells can increase photovoltaic production by up to 12%.

What support system do I need for my solar installation? Can I remove the boiler?
A solar installation requires a support system. There is no specific technology needed, you can use a gas boiler, electric thermos, heat pump, aerothermia...
